AMBERLEY STUDIO collects personal data from clients & suppliers for the purpose of conducting its business. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for their marketing and advertising purposes. This policy covers how and what data we collect and how we use it. How we hold data, and for how long, and how we delete data.

  1. DATA COLLECTION. How and what we collect

  2. Enquiries via the website 'contact' page, by phone, in-bound email or in person will result in personal data being collected - such as name, email address, telephone number and home / business address.

  3. Attending an in-person workshop will result in your personal data being collected. This data will be used to notify you about any changes to your chosen event and to inform you about upcoming events hosted by AMBERLEY STUDIO.

  4. Information relating to an individuals or organisations style, colour, branding & design preferences as well as interests and hobbies may also be collected as part of the design brief.

  5. Signing up for AMBERLEY STUDIO newsletter/email marketing will result in your name and email address being used for this fortnightly email communication. Only individuals who sign-up via the website or by opting in via Instagram or another social media platform will be added to the mailing list. 

  6. When someone visits www.amberleystudio.co.uk we use a third-party service, Google 

  7. AMBERLEY STUDIO may, on occasion, offer a free downloadable information sheet, pdf or similar. We collect the name and email address of only those individuals who opt-in or request the information via social media or direct from our website. These details are then added to AMBERLEY STUDIO mailing list. An opt-out is available on every communication sent.

 

  1. COOKIE POLICY. Cookie files are simple text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. It will contain some anonymous information such as unique identifier, website’s domain name, and some digits and numbers. 

  2. What type of cookies we use.

    1. Necessary Cookies. Necessary cookies allow us to offer you the best experience when accessing and navigating through our website and using its features. 

    2. Functionality Cookies.  Functionality cookies let us operate the site in accordance with the choices you make. 

    3. Analytical cookies.  These cookies enable us and third parties to collect aggregated data for statistical purposes on how our visitors use the website. These cookies do not contain personal information such as name and email address. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

  3. How to delete cookies. If you want to block or restrict the cookies that are set by our website, you can do so through your browser setting.

 

  1. DATA STORAGE

  2. Information is held in both electronic and paper format.

  3. Electronic data is held on an electronic database, mood board and space planning applications, CAD software, as well as in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. All electronic equipment is password protected. 

  4. Paper based notes, drawings, sketches, and ideas are also kept in a 'client file'. Client files are housed in a secured (combination locked) filing cabinet and only accessible by AMBERLEYSTUDIO employees. 

  5. Both electronic equipment and filing cabinet are housed at AMBERLEY STUDIO in a secured, locked office space.

 

  1. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

  2. We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services clients have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our policies.

  3. Data will be deleted after it is no longer necessary for us to retain (see 3.1)

  4. Electronic data is permanently deleted from all devices & electronic storage & back-up facilities.

  5. Hard copies of data containing personally identifiable data are shredded.

 

  1. DATA USES. What we do with data

  2. We collect data to allow us to correspond with clients & suppliers and in conjunction with carrying out interior design services in both domestic and commercial environments.

  3. Design Data (as per 1.3) is collated to assist in developing a design concept that reflects the interests, characteristics, and functionality requirements of the client.

  4. Data collected as part of an opt-in (see 1.4) will be used to add the individual to the AMBERLEY STUDIO mailing list for communication from AMBERLEY STUDIO only.

  5. Data may also be used as part of follow up to client & suppliers such as ‘Thank You’ notes, additional work phases or projects, and requests for portfolio photography.

  6. Data may be shared with associated third-party trades/suppliers in conjunction with carrying out interior design work and at the request of or in agreement with the client/supplier.

  7. We attempt to minimise the amount of personal information we disclose to third parties to what is directly relevant and necessary to accomplish the specified purpose.

  8. AMBERLEY STUDIO cannot be held responsible for how third-party trades/suppliers handle data but would expect them to fully comply with GDPR.
